During the course of a hand, players place bets into a \u201cpot\u201d in the center of the table. This pot is the sum total of all bets made by all players. Once betting comes around to a particular player, they can choose to either Fold, Check or Call. If they Fold, they forfeit their hand and lose any bets they had already placed into the pot. If they check, they pass on their turn to make a bet and must wait for it to come back around to them again. If they call, they must match the last player\u2019s bet or raise it.<\/p>\n
The cards used in poker are ranked (from high to low) Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 and 3. Some games may include jokers or other wild cards.
