(Windows) Jailbreak iPhone 3GS, 4 on 4.3, 4.3.1, 4.3.2, 4.3.3 using Redsn0w

Prerequisites:

  • the 4.3 or 4.3.1 or 4.3.2 or 4.3.3 IPSW firmware file for your device (if your iPhone is on 4.3.1, then get the 4.3.1 IPSW; if your iPhone is on 4.3, then get the 4.3 IPSW, etc.)

You can get this from the PwnMyI Firmware Guide

  • an un-jailbroken iPhone 3GS/4 on iOS 4.3 or 4.3.1 or 4.3.2 or 4.3.3
  • the latest version of iTunes installed

How to Jailbreak:

1. Download Redsn0w 0.9.6rc16.

2. Extract the archive that you just downloaded and run redsn0w.exe.

3. Click Browse and locate the iOS 4.3/4.3.1/4.3.2/4.3.3 IPSW that you downloaded earlier.

4. Redsn0w will verify that the IPSW is valid. Once this is done, click Next. Redsn0w will now prepare some data required for the jailbreak.

5. You will now be shown the jailbreak options. Make sure that Install Cydia is checked. Click Next.

6. Make sure your iPhone is off and plugged into your computer. Click Next.

7. Follow the on-screen instructions to put your iPhone into DFU mode. Once your iPhone is in DFU mode, your screen will be black. Once you have successfully put your iPhone into DFU mode, Redsn0w will begin the jailbreak.

8. Redsn0w will upload the jailbreak data to your iPhone. Once Redsn0w is done, you may close Redsn0w by clicking Finish. You will see some text and images appear on your iPhone’s screen while the jailbreak is performed. Once your iPhone has rebooted, you are jailbroken!

    cydia and safari doesn’t open!sry i did exactly the same,i have the IPSW for my 4.3 iphone 4.and the redsn0w software that u told.i did all the things,then the text appeared on my iphone.but fter reboot cyida and safari doesn’t open at all!! cydia is just a white icon on my phone now.plz plz help me

      Try your jailbreak again. If it still does not work, try restoring your iPhone in iTunes. Then retry your jailbreak.

    but hey guys i almost forgot i have a question: when i tried to jailbreak my ipod touch 4g it did not work and was stuck on the apple logo so i had to restore my ipod but itunes wont let me it gives me a kind of error and wont restore can someone help me? (im running on 4.1)
    so did apple changed the iphone4 and itouch4 to not be able to restore them or am i facing a problem?

      google the itunes error and put “fix” behind it then there should be a guide that will come up showing you how to fix it.

    My 3gs completed the jailbreak and just seems to be just rebooting over and over. Is this normal?

        Simple really, I have the 3GS with 4.3.2 and the 4.3.1 firmware did not work 3 times. Each attempt put me in a restart loop. Need to wait for the 4.3.2 firmware.

      Unfortunately, no new news on the 4G BB 2.10. The new Ultrasn0w update (v1.2.2) is only to support iOS 4.3.2 and does not include any new baseband support.

          You don’t have to restore your device to Jailbreak using Redsn0w.

    Hey, I’m trying to upgrade my firmware from 4.2.1 to the newest 4.3.2. I got the firmware 4.3.2 plus the newest version of redsn0w. How do i upgrade and jailbreak my iphone without restoring my iphone to default settings. I would really like to keep all my apps that i currently have.

    Once you download the IPSW, make sure to place it in an accessible location, like your desktop. Redsn0w should be able to detect your .ipsw file.

    hey guys, sorry for disturb. am very new over al this thing, my fren did try to help me to jailbreak but he nv try to jail a iphone 4 with a 4.3. so it only can see the cydia icon but it empty inside, so what should i do?? am not good in this thing at all…any 1 willing to help me??

      Sometimes the Cydia icon will be white unless you restart your iPhone.

      you should do restore to iphone and try again but maybe it became white because you didnt turn him off next time make sure is off
