Today, Verizon Chief Financial Officer, Fran Shammo, confirmed among other things that Verizon would be getting the next iPhone at the same time as AT&T.
While few doubted the staggered release of the iPhone 4 would continue with the next iteration, hearing it from Shammo puts the issue to rest. Shammo also stated that the Verizon version of the next iPhone would work in as many countries as AT&T’s iPhone. This appears to comfirm reports of the next iPhone having both GSM and CDMA radios.
However, Shammo did not confirm or deny a 4G long-term-evolution (LTE [4g]) capable iPhone for the devices next iteration, but did say “I think it’s a bigger issue for Apple than it is for us. Depending on where Apple plays, that’s where we’ll sell.”
