(Mac) Jailbreak Apple TV 2G on 4.2.1 using Greenpois0n

Prerequisites:

an un-jailbroken Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.2.1

How to Jailbreak:

1. Download Greenpois0n RC6.1 from the link below.

2. Extract gp_mac_rc6_1.zip.

3. Launch “greenpois0n”.

4. Greenpois0n will ask you if you are jailbreaking an Apple TV. Click “Yes”.

5. Plug your Apple TV into your computer.

6. Click “Jailbreak”.

7. Follow the instructions in Greenpois0n to put your into Apple TV into DFU mode.

8. Once your Apple TV is in DFU mode the jailbreak process will start.

9. Once the jailbreak is complete, click “Complete!”. Do NOT unplug your Apple TV from your computer for about a minute while the jailbreak completes!

10. Disconnect your Apple TV from your computer and plug it into your TV.

11. On your Apple TV menu, go to “greenpois0n”, select “Inject Software”, and select “Cydia Payload”.
