To follow these instructions you must be using an activated device not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.
Requirements for this guide:
1. An iPod Touch 1G running on OS 3.1.2
Download: Spirit

3. iTunes version 9 to 9.1.1
Step One : Opening Spirit
Double click the Spirit.app.zip file that you downloaded to extract it.
An app should be extracted named Spirit. Double click the application to launch it.
Step Two: Jailbreaking
Connect your iPhone and press the Jailbreak button.
The Spirit app will then work it’s magic then let you know when the jailbreak is complete.
Your iPhone will reboot and show you progress indicator. Once this completes your iPhone will be jailbroken with Cydia installed.
