Sources for MacRumors claim that Apple has begun testing a 15″ MacBook Air notebook. It’s unknown if the notebook will augment the Air lineup or eventually replace the standard MacBook Pro (Making the current day MacBook Pro, an ordinary MacBook), but TUAW believes that it will be labeled as a “Pro” alongside a thin 17″ model. With the release of Lion, Apple has solidified their position against optical media, so it would be surprising if they completely phased out the more traditional unibody design in favor of the ultra thin Air body. It’s possible that Apple will introduce the 15″ and 17″ MacBook “Airs” in time for the holiday season.
